One Of The Rarest Imperial Japanese Late Type 44 Gunto
This is maybe the 2nd or 3rd one of these rare late pattern Type 44 gunto I have owned in about 30 years of collecting. I've also only ever seen a few of these and they have always had Mantetsu blades in them. This one the mounts are nice and the blade is very nice but has some pitting near the point and needs a polish which I can arrange for about $900-1000. This blade is signed: Mantetsu Kitae Tsukuru Kore and has the Namban Army Dalian Manufacturing Plant Arsenal acceptance stamp. It is dated: Showa Kinoe Saru Haru (1944 spring). This is what I consider an investment grade military sword because of its rarity. Dont miss out!
