An NBTHK Papered Gunto Mounted Koto Katana Attributed To Unshu Tadasada

This is a nice mumei katana which the NBTHK attributed to Unshu Tadasada from Izumo province.  There were a few generations and this one appears to be from early to mid Muramachi period (1490-1550).  The blade actually has a lot of Yamato school charactoristics.  Active sugu hamon with itame hada and hakikaki in the boshi.  The cutting edge is 26 1/4" long.  The blade is mounted in new shira saya and the gunto mounts which are very nice have a wood tsunagi to keep them together.  An excellent blade for the price!

$6800
